3 Steps to Accept your Body

Accept Your Body

In this article, you will find the three essential steps of the journey on how to accept your body and why it is so important.

While most people struggle with body image at some point in their lives, you can get ahead and learn how to accept your body now!

Step 1

Make a choice to accept your figure and set your intention

Society has put so much value and importance on our outward appearance that it can make it difficult to prioritize what’s on the inside.

It all starts by making the decision to put in the effort to accept your size and shape, your feelings, unconditionally. Practice positive self-talk, Sister!

Honor your character, talents,  and achievements. Instead of trying to meet society's impossible standards of female beauty, give yourself affirmations on how special you really are. Recognize that beauty, health, and strength come in all sizes.

Have a clear intention of Loving Yourself.

Loving Yourself -What does loving oneself really mean?

Self-love may take the form of relaxing moments, scented candles, going for a jog, finding clothes you like, treating yourself to a spa day, and good food, But not only, Sister! Is it not loving ourselves being able to look in the mirror without criticizing our own bodies? This is the truth: self-love is to practice body-gratitude, acceptance towards our figures, and to gather the idea that you are beautiful the way you are, Sister!

Step 2

Stop comparing your body to others

Unlock the power of contentment, focus on your strengths and learn to compete with yourself instead of others.

Not only are we unhappy but the other people are as well. They are probably comparing themselves to you.

People come in all shapes and sizes therefore, it's impossible for the “perfect body” to be real because it's simply inhuman. Our unique individual characteristics, things that may seem insignificant, are actually the most attractive parts of us. When we compare ourselves to others, we end up focusing our energy on bringing them down instead of raising ourselves up.

This is why is it primordial to stop now! If you're always looking at keeping up with other people or comparing yourself to other people, you're likely overlooking your own strengths and talents. You may even hide your talents and strengths.

Once you stop comparing your life to others, self-esteem will increase. Learn to commit yourself to gratitude, embrace the competition, be your own best friend.

Step 3

Self-Care

Let’s clear up one common misconception from the get-go: Self-care is not synonymous with self-indulgence or being selfish. Self-care means taking care of yourself so that you can be healthy, you can be well, you can do your job, you can help and care for others, and you can do all the things you need to and want to accomplish in a day.

Take time to make yourself a priority each day. Put self-care on your to-do list, cross it off as you do it, and don't feel guilty about it.

Self-care is so important in improving our well-being and quality of life. During the process, we do whatever is good for our body, to satisfy our needs and desires.  To put it simply, self-care makes us feel satisfied and happy

Common examples of self-care include: maintaining a regular sleeping routine, eating healthy, spending quality time, and expressing gratitude.

But remember that with a good mindset, surrounding yourself with the right people, and some ‘ME” time, you can get to a place where you happily accept your body and love it for all that it provides for you.

Give your body the ability to meet your daily goal.
